The World Stage Needs You

The Small Ask:

With your help, we successfully reached our initial goal of 8000. yesterday, in record time. Do you know that in 30 years of The World Stage, we've never done this kind of fundraising? It means a lot to us that you chose to support the Stage. We have one last micro fund effort to raise 2000. for a badly needed soundboard. So we turn to you again, our World Stage family, to help us with this smaller effort. Once this is funded,  all you have to do is come visit us and enjoy the newly energized Stage.  Thank you. Peace + Love Dwight

The Big Ask (FUNDED!)

The World Stage was born in 1989 with a dream and mission to secure, preserve and advance African American music, literature and works in the oral tradition.

For 30 years, we have proudly fulfilled this promise of presenting world class music and providing a quality, low cost arts education to all ages.

Like most non profits, the World Stage runs on a very small budget with no room for any extra costs and every year, we look for ways to keep providing the same quality of programming as well to increase the attendance that keeps us vital.

Because the truth is, even though we bring you the very best of the arts in LA (even the world) we have to compete with some pretty sophisticated venues to get our seats filled so we can make sure our musicians and artists feel the love and support they deserve and that TWS can live on into the future.

So for the very first time, we are turning to you, our supporters, to ask for your help with a donation to fund some very important projects to make the World Stage even better.

Because we will be dark from mid Dec to mid Jan, this is the perfect time to fund and complete these projects so we can start 2020 with an improved and more welcoming World Stage!

Thank you in advance for your contribution.

Peace and Gratitude,

Dwight Trible, Director

Needs and Budget

Paving   $3200.
You've probably noticed that the back patio/parking lot is badly in need of repair.  This need to be done as soon as possible because it is a safety issue. TWS is responsible for this area and the landlord has said that they will not provide funds. We have gotten several quotes and this is the best price for the best work.

Interior  $3500.
Modifications are badly needed to the interior decor, including a new paint job. The more welcoming we can make our space, the better we compete for attendance.

Chairs   $2200.
We’ve had the same chairs for 20+ years and they are not comfortable. We’ve found a great price for 100 lightly used, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing chairs.

Sound Board  Cost ?
This cost is not included in the budget but if by some miracle we can raise more than the 8k, we'll get a new soundboard.
Music and the spoken word are all about sound and without excellent sound, we can’t do justice to either.

The funds will be allocated depending on how much we raise.

Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
