Light of Hope for Native America

$20000.00= 9 solar generator wind turbine packages or approx 75 solar street lights!

Approx 15,000 homes on the Navajo Nation Reservation in the United States four corners area (Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico) do not have access to the United States power grid, use of kerosene lamps and flashlights are still prominent. It is also common for children to use the internal dome light of a relatives vehicle to complete school homework.  The installation of a single power line for one home can cost thousands of dollars that most families cannot afford,  For the cost of one power pole installation we can supply approx. 3 homes with Solar generated power and a solar street lamp.

When Gregory Adams of Huntkey USA Inc. thought of a market for solar generators to help people living off the electric grid, the company was focused on remote parts of Africa. That is until the company met entrepreneur Kendall Augustine owner of Analytical Technologies who as a young child spent summers with his grandparents that shared the living conditions of many people on the Navajo Reservation. Augustine, a member of the Navajo (Dine’) tribe, told the company about the challenges his grandparents faced growing up on the reservation in the Nageezi Checker Board area in New Mexico and how it still exists to this day across native american reservation throughout the United States of America it was then that a partnership and mission were seeded.

Nageezi has limited electricity, and families rely on gas generators and many are required to haul water for use in their homes. The lack of electricity means challenges to survival such as lights at night to thwart off wild animals on a 40 – 60-ft trek to an outhouse, running out of batteries on emergency cell phones or maintaining refrigeration of food and life-saving medications.

The company will use their own funds to kick-off the project and provide a proof of concept of the project by helping Gilbert Padilla who is a disabled man living in Nageezi, NM. The first installation is a solar street light that will provide Padilla safety when walking to the outhouse at night and assist in keeping wild animals at a distance. The second phase is installing the Huntkey USA Inc. Nature’s Generator at the residence to replace the existing gas generator. The current generator requires constant refilling, which is difficult in a remote area.

This is only the first step in Analytical Technologies' vision for improving the living conditions of the Navajo Nation. “Once we are finished in Nageezi, our goal is to provide solar-generated electricity to every home off the grid in New Mexico, Utah, and Arizona (three states that create the boundaries of the Navajo Nation. Then we will work with the Utes and every tribe across the United States. This is only the beginning.”-Kendall Augustine

With your donation, you can give the gift of light and safety! This campaign does not have an end date so long as there is a home that needs it.
