Right now, we need your help. We are a non-profit, community and volunteer organization, and our primary goal is to be open to the public and accessible to people of all ages, genders, income levels or backgrounds. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we need to find a new home. We cannot do this without your financial support.
For five years, the Bellingham MakerSpace has been an incredible resource for our diverse community in Whatcom County. We have enjoyed teaching people of all ages about the wonderful ways we can create and make fantastic ideas into reality. More than a community tool shop, our members have gone on to start businesses, helped those with disabilities, and taught children the wonders of technology.
Our tools have been used to make countless 3d printed sculptures and inventions, beautiful laser engraved artwork, handmade furniture, props for local theaters and escape rooms, and much more. In our classroom, we have hosted events ranging from 4-H Junk drawer robotics and Girl Scout engineering days for children, to Script to Screen, Bellingham Codes, and Virtual Reality monthly meetups. Our volunteers have worked together to beautify our lovely city with projects such as the Garden Sphere, Rainworks stencil art, and the six-thousand tile laser-cut acrylic mural along Boulevard.
During the month of December, we will be hosting a number of events to showcase our members and the things that they make at the Bellingham MakerSpace. Our goal is to raise $25,000 to put towards moving, offering more classes, and expanding our open hours. Your contribution will allow us to not only stay open to the public and continue to provide this invaluable resource to our local community, but grow sustainably into the future!
