Fundraiser to help with Emery’s medical needs.

Hello everyone! We have started this GoFundMe to help offset medical costs accrued for Emery Guerrero who is 5 months old. Her parents are Courtney Whitehead and Luis Guerrero
Emery was taken to her local PCP because she wasn't feeling well. The PCP sent her to the hospital stating that her little body was in distress and her heart didn't sound right.
While getting settled into her hospital room for overnight observation, Emery went into heart failure. The HALO Air Support Team from Driscoll's Children's Hospital in Corpus was immediatly activated to life-flight Emery to Corpus.
Once there and tests were ran, they found out that Emery has a heart defect called VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect). It is a hole in the heart wall that separates the two lower chambers.
With this heart defect, Emery's heart is over working itself to keep up with her little body's demand - on top of trying to fight off the other infections she has (pneumonia in both lungs, adenovirus, and parainfluenza virus). This also causes her body to lack enough oxygen.
Emery was released from Driscoll's and sent home with the knowledge that Emery will be requiring heart surgery in a months time.
On Wednesday October 16, Emery was sent back to Driscoll's by ambulance with pneumonia again in both of her lungs. We will keep this GoFundMe updated as new information arises.
We hope to raise money that will help put a dent in these medical costs and help alleviate some of the financial stress off of Emery's parents. Will you please consider helping? Any little bit helps.
