Barryroe GAA & Camogie Clubs 'Parish Pucathon'

Barryroe GAA and Camogie Clubs

Parish Pucathon
#RaceAroundtheParish

On Sunday 31st of May, Barryroe GAA and Camogie clubs will be co-hosting a fundraiser in aid of Marymount University Hospital & Hospice. Links to the fundraiser can be found on the Barryroe GAA social media platforms on Facebook, Twitter, the clubs website and on Instagram 'Barryroe_Pucathon' or please contact the organisers.

Players from both adult teams along with young and old members of the parish are asked to part take in this fundraiser. The fundraiser, 'Parish Pucathon' is a Puc Fada around the parish of Barryroe. All HSE guidelines must be adhered to, the 5km exercise radius and social distancing.

The fundraiser will take the format of a friendly challenge between two teams split into groups of 4 (2 from each team) at several locations along the route, in a relay format. Teams will be made up of members of both adult teams and anyone who enters from the wider community. The goal: The team with the lowest number of pucks from the start to the finish wins.

Progress of the fundraiser can be followed on the clubs social media platforms during the day. Our overall target of course is to raise as much money as possible for our chosen charity, Marymount University Hospital & Hospice. So lets get Barryroe Pucking for Marymount!!

Marymount University Hospital & Hospice ensures that 'all donations are used for the development of our services and to improve the care and comfort for those whom we have the privilege of caring. This donation will be used to good effect, and the hospital is extremely grateful for it'.

As well as raising some much needed funds for such a worthy cause it will be good for the whole community to get out and get involved in this fundraiser, and get back to some bit of hurling!! While in these difficult times its of utmost importance to adhere to HSE guidelines, we must stay apart and not physically gather as a community but lets show our community spirit is as strong as ever by staying apart.
