Mean and Green Microgreens needs YOUR help!

Hey all! My name is Zach Wolff and I am the President/Founder of the produce company Mean and Green Microgreens. I'm really glad you stopped by to check out our crowdfunding page. Currently, I am growing ALL of my delicious Microgreens out of my basement. Naturally, there are a LOT of benefits such as controlled climate, access to consistent lighting, ability to control the cleanliness and safety of the environment which is greatly needed at this time, and a plethora of additional benefits. Conversely, there are negatives that are hitting hard right now. Chief among those are storage of seeds (more on this later), limited space, watering issues, airflow to prevent contamination, and stronger more beneficial lighting.

Why the crowdfunding? Not enough money of course! Jokes aside, the Covid-19 lockdowns and a storage issue on my end have all but strangulated growth and ability to help people source locally grown organic food. We all know about the lockdowns, but what is this storage issue you might ask? To sum it all up nicely, I had been storing seeds in my finished garage attached directly to the house and therefore sealed from the outside world. In addition, they were stored in rubber re-sealable totes. At the end of May, the unthinkable happened, a chipmunk or many decided that it was time to break into my garage and ransack my seeds. All of them were ruined and I had to dispose of them. On top of that my soil was invaded by a large colony of ants. In total on that morning alone I lost just over $2000 worth of soil and seed. What should never have happened certainly did. Hello Murphy's law, how are you? Anyway, that has set Mean and Green back mightily. We would like to kindly ask all of you for help to not only rearm, but to rebuild so that we can mitigate all of the issues we are currently dealing with.

Let's look at the breakdown of everything we need to be able to launch onto the new path as soon as possible.

Seeds and soil rearm: $2000
New lighting: $450
Additional Shelving: $1400
New lockable storage: $100

Total: $3950

The above total will help us up production and be able to pump out more delicious veggies for everyone at a much improved speed. That solves our seed storage issue, our lighting issue and partially solves our space issue. As for the airflow, watering and remaining space issue we would like to move our whole operation into a mobile unit. Our goal is to be able to travel the country and deliver quality, clean, delicious, microgreens and educate all those who we encounter on the importance of quality local food and the health benefits. Of course, that costs a lot of money and I have that totaled up below.

Mobile unit cost/food truck: $25-45,000
Educational tools and cost of travel: $30,000

GoFundMe cost: $6368

$100 or more contributors will receive:

-Mean and Green Microgreens shirt
-access to the private Facebook group where I'll post tips, tricks, educational materials, and discounts to the store

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and consider being a valuable supporter of Mean and Green Microgreens! I look forward to seeing you all out and about at farmer's markets or delivering directly to your home!
