Mental Health Funding for Women of Color

My name is Michelle C. Fogli, LMFT. I am a marriage and family therapist in Los Angeles. I would like to help my friend and colleague Tamika Lewis, LCSW and her practice, Women of Color Therapy Inc. raise funds to provide free and low fee therapy for women of color by women of color.
The reason I want to do this is quite simple.
I want to live in a better world. One with less pain, one that offers equal access to services like mental health for all communities, and one that isn’t built on senseless hate and discrimination toward people of color.
I believe in the transformational power of individual therapy. The research shows that the therapeutic bond is the biggest factor of success in mental health services.
Women of color need access to affordable therapy with clinicians they can trust!
EVERY PENNY RAISED will go directly to providing therapy sessions with a highly trained WOC Therapy Inc. therapist.
WOC Therapy Inc. was founded by Tamika Lewis, LCSW in March of 2019. Tamika is a black therapist, mother of two, and community advocate who responded to the urgent need for more mental health services for women of color.
In the 7 years that Tamika and I have been working together, she has spent countless hours writing articles published by our favorite magazines and websites, penning mental health guides and workbooks and booking speaking engagements at events that were on the cutting edge, advancing the discussions of marginalized people and the stigma of mental health.
WOC Therapy helps women of color heal from emotional and physical trauma. With the onset of COVID, which has disproportionately impacted the black community, and the historical impact of racial trauma, there is an increased need for support.
Tamika and I built our respective practices together. I didn’t understand my role in her practice until now. Please stand with me as an ally of healing for women of color.
Your donations will help to move women off the waitlist and into a safe space where they can begin to receive immediate healing.
Our goal is to support 75 women of color who will receive a minimum of 4 individual therapy sessions.
