TULSA, Okla. — Black media is critical in shifting power and equity to Black communities. The Black Wall Street Times shines light on injustices in education, healthcare discrimination, economic inequalities, and wrongful criminal sentencing often overlooked here in Tulsa, and across the country.
All Black journalists, especially the independent ones must, not only be supported, but celebrated for this dedication to a more just future. That’s why we’re asking for your help. We are close to hitting one million views on bwstimes.com, so to celebrate, we are producing our first-ever limited-edition newsprint.
The inaugural newsprint of The Black Wall Street Times celebrates our website reaching over one million visitors and will commemorate the “I, too, am America” Juneteenth Rally for Justice in Greenwood this coming weekend as Trump resumes his campaign trail with a rally in the city where the largest massacre of Black Americans occurred 99 years ago.
Trump is no dummy. He knows that this is the site of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. Where 300 black Americans were violently killed and buried in mass graves throughout the city. And 36 square blocks of Black economic progress were set ablaze, bombed and burned to ashes. He knows that Juneteenth is the time when the last of enslaved Black Americans joyfully and 'legally' walked from under the ownership of their white masters. We’ve had enough. So, along with local community organizers, our mission this week, and in producing this artifact, is to maintain focus on commemorating what Juneteenth represents, and continue sharing the legacy of Greenwood, the home of Black Wall Street, with the world. All eyes are on Tulsa.
I want to close by saying how extremely grateful I am for every single one of you. Even those who may disagree with our position on certain issues. All of the time you’ve made for us, considering our words, donating to our cause goes back to supporting Black journalism. All funds raised through this campaign enable us to continue paying the journalists and artists that are essential to telling our Black stories, and ensure our Black history is properly documented.

About the Founder
Nehemiah D. Frank is the founder, and Editor-in-Chief of The Black Wall Street Times, digital news media company that believes access is the new civil right. He’s also a freelance writer, appearing in TIME Magazine, Tulsa People, and Tulsa World. Frank graduated with a general studies degree from Harold Washington College in Chicago, IL, and a political science degree from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and was a member and chapter president of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society. Today, he is a blogger for Education Post, based in Chicago, IL, and a board member for the Tulsa World, Tulsa Press Club, and Tulsa’s Table. He is also a public school educator at a local community-led charter school and is a member of Superintendent Joy Hofmeister’s Education Task Force for Equity and Inclusion. In 2017, Frank became a Terence Crutcher Foundation honoree, a recipient of the 2017 METCares Foundation Community Impact Award, a 2018 Black Educators Fellow and gave a TED Talk at the University of Tulsa.
