Mr Stevens in Uganda

Donation protected
Mr Stevens is volunteering in Uganda next August with Street Child’s International Teacher Training programme.

Street Child believes that education is a fundamental right and achieving universal basic education is the single greatest step that can be taken towards eliminating the inequality gap and ultimately global poverty. That is why Street Child focuses on education in some of the world’s hardest to reach places. From an original project supporting 100 street children in Sierra Leone, Street Child has to date supported over 250,000 vulnerable children into education and now operates in 12 countries across Africa and Asia.

Mr Stevens will work alongside Street Child’s local teaching specialists, sharing his skills and empowering local teachers, in doing so, improving the quality of education in rural schools across Uganda. His work will help to transform the lives of some of the worlds most vulnerable children.

Heber Primary School is fundraising in aid of Street Child’s work, to ensure that the work Mr Stevens achieves in Uganda can have a long term impact.

We have an amazing fundraising window of opportunity as Street Child is running a UK Aid Match appeal, called ‘Mind The Gap’, which means all public donations or pledges made before the 4th of January will be doubled by the UK government.   Mr Stevens pledged before that date to raise £2200 and now has to March 3rd to do so!

Just £15 doubled to £30 will cover the school fees, uniform and materials for a child for one year.
