Vignettes - Showcasing Female Writers

Hello there!

We are a female-led theatre group, based in Manchester UK, who are doing something pretty ambitious this February.

Over coffee in 2019, our accidental founders (Alex & Hannah) had a great chat about the power of collaboration and networking to facilitate North West female talent.

And they came up with Vignettes! Writers writing together. In a supportive space. With a balance of freedom and mentorship.

They were keen to create brilliant theatre and a platform for emerging and established writers to have the space to create work they truly cared about. 

All funds raised will go to paying the creatives we have assembled for 'Vignettes'. The writers who have worked so hard to pen 6 interesting, original & brilliant stories, the dedicated 6 directors, our team of phenomenal actors and, of course, those behind the scenes making it all possible.

We have submitted 2 funding applications to Arts Council England, receiving 'other applications preferred' both times, which essentially means you have no feedback and couldn't have improved, you were just pipped to the post! 

We are doing only 4 nights at the beautiful Hope Mill Theatre, so ticket sales sadly won't cover the costs of employing all these amazing artists.
