UPDATE: Hey everyone! AJ's surgery went well this week to find the duct in his chest that is still draining fluid and be able to seal it but it will be about another two days before they know for sure that it worked. If it did, then AJ will be able to be airlifted home in 5-7 days. It is the only way they will transport him back to Chicago and that cost is $15,000 out of pocket that Pastor Tiffany will have to pay. Please share this and help us raise this money for them so that AJ can come home and continue his healing, recovery, and rehab in the comfort of his own home. Please also continue to pray for complete healing in his body and that we would be able to get him and Pastor Tiffany back home safely.
What happened:
AJ and a friend were hit by an SUV going 50 mph Saturday, January 18th, while walking to help someone whose car had broken down. AJ was hit right in the back and was thrown into the ditch. He was rushed to the hospital unable to move his legs or feet. He had to have emergency surgery where they ended up putting eight screws and two rods in his back to stabilize his spine. He had two broken vertebrae as well as a shattered disk they had to replace. He still needs another surgery because he broke his jaw as well. He has gained feeling all the way to his heels currently which is incredible! He is in the ICU still and has a very long road of recovery ahead of him. He is also still in a lot of pain and has already started some PT/OT but needs a lot of prayer because he can't fully move his body or is able to walk. Please be praying for a miracle to heal his body as well as for his mental state and spirit to be lifted as he is scared. It is not easy for a person to know they can't feel their legs and feet or that he may not be able to walk again. The doctor said that he is encouraged and hopeful though because AJ is young and strong. Pastor Tiffany and family rushed to be with him down in Louisiana and Pastor Tiffany will be staying until he is able to come home. It is an incredible miracle that he is alive but the family still needs our prayers and support. Please consider financially helping them out with the medical bills and all the travel expenses involved. Every little amount is appreciated.
