Diffondiamo musica e arte contemporanea a Como

Associazione Culturale Polifonie is a non profit association with the aim of sharing the knowledge of choral and musical culture on the territory, with a focus on contemporary classical music.  We pursue our goal by teaching, performing in concerts, promoting published or unpublished experimental and non-experimental musical composing, establishing composition competitions, exploring XX and XXI Centuries' music, supporting living composers, introducing ad hoc programmes for a younger and more exigent public, embracing co-operations, modern and avant-garde technologies, respecting multiculturality, crossing boundaries among different art forms and interdisciplinary concepts, networking with other musical styles and new artistic and non-artistic communication forms.

The Association designs and organizes cultural events related to its goals, too. Among the many activities planned for 2019-2020 is the organization of Como Contemporary Festival 's second edition, a festival to promote New Music (contemporary classical music) and contemporary arts.

We have created this crowdfunding campaign in order to be able to organize this edition of our Festival: the funds we'll collect are aimed at funding the festival activities, and will be mainly used to pay for the costs related to the participation to the festival of emerging and established artists.

Our festival will bring culture and culture lovers to Como and Lake Como, and the benefits will be mainly for younger people, who will be able to attend events for a very small fee, events that will broaden their minds and knowledge of music. Moreover, it will benefit young composers, artists and musicians, as with the funds we're going to raise they'll be able to attend and bring their masterpieces, compositions and ability to perform to Como, otherwise they won't be able to attend in person.

The funds will be used to help young and unpublished artists, composers and musicians pay for their travel to and their stay in Como to attend the festival and perform for the wider public. This will support them in their future careers.

The funds are needed asap, that means by the end of March, so that all of the interested persons will know if we can support them financially or if they have to give up their participation in person or have to find other ways to fund their travel.

Last year we organized the festival's first edition and, e.g., we couldn't help the winners of the International Composition Competition "Appassionato Ensemble"   pay for their journey, and, as the first classified and unpublished composer  was a very young man from Hong Kong, he sadly couldn't  attend the world premiére of his masterpiece.

Reaching our fundraising goal would mean a whole world to us and to the young artists, performers, compositors, involved in the festival: we have a group of performers waiting to buy their airplane ticket to participate in the Festival in June, e.g., and we're strongly committed in helping them come to Como.

L’Associazione Culturale Polifonie è un’associazione non profit che ha lo scopo di diffondere la cultura musicale e corale sul territorio, con particolare attenzione alla musica classica contemporanea.  Ciò viene fatto attraverso l'insegnamento, l’esecuzione di concerti, la promozione della scrittura musicale di ricerca, edita e non, e l’istituzione di concorsi di composizione, esplorando le musiche del ventesimo e ventunesimo secolo, fornendo supporto a compositori viventi, presentando programmi per un pubblico più giovane ed esigente, abbracciando collaborazioni, tecnologie moderne e d’avanguardia, rispettandola multiculturalità, interessandosi anche all'attraversamento dei confini fra forme di arte differenti e concetti interdisciplinari, nonché al fare rete con altri stili musicali e nuove forme di comunicazione artistica e non.

L’Associazione è anche finalizzata alla progettazione e organizzazione di eventi culturali ad essa collegati e, fra le numerose attività pianificate per l'anno 2019-2020, vi è l'organizzazione della seconda edizione del Como Contemporary Festival , un festival per la Nuova Musica (musica classica contemporanea) e per le arti contemporanee.  Ed è per poter realizzare questa edizione del Festival che abbiamo creato questa campagna di crowdfunding: i fondi raccolti saranno volti a finanziare le attività del festival, e saranno utilizzati principalmente per pagare i costi di partecipazione al festival di artisti emergenti e affermati.

Il nostro festival porterà cultura e amanti della cultura a Como e sul lago di Como, e i benefici ricadranno su tutto il territorio: giovani e meno giovani potranno ampliare la loro conoscenza della musica e delle arti contemporanee; le persone interessate alla cultura musicale e artistica contemporanea si recheranno a Como per poter partecipare ai concerti e agli eventi organizzati durante la la settimana del Festival (04-05-06-07 Giugno 2020), con ricadute interessanti per tutto il territorio.

I fondi dovranno pervenire il prima possibile, al massimo entro la fine di aprile, per permettere di organizzare al meglio tutte le attività necessarie al buon funzionamento del festival.

Raggiungere il nostro obiettivo di raccolta fondi significherebbe moltissimo per noi e per gli artisti, gli esecutori, i compositori coinvolti, nonché per il pubblico interessato.

L'Associazione organizza da diversi anni il Concorso Internazionale di Composizione "Appassionato Ensemble"  , al quale partecipano compositori da ogni parte del mondo, le cui opere verranno giudicate quest'anno da una giuria composta da  Alessandro Solbiati (Italia), Presidente, Jean-Pierre Leguay (Francia), Mehdi Khayami (Iran), Umberto Pedraglio (Italia), Direttore Artistico.
I brani selezionati come vincitori verranno eseguiti durante il Como Contemporary Festival.
