The mission of Generations RISE is to assist people (youth & adults) in achieving their life goals, resulting in an overall better quality of life; socioeconomic growth and living a healthy lifestyle. This is accomplished through equipping people with support, personal development and the teaching of basic essential life skills.
We Need Your Help!
Generations RISE is a 501(c)3 nonprofit program. We provide educational programs to youth and adults. We are funded through grants, tax deductible donations and fundraisers.
It is our vision to grow as a human services provider and extend our programs to meet the needs of families throughout the U.S.; contributing to a vibrant and blessed life. We hope to partner with Secondary School Systems, Juvenile Detention Centers, Group Homes, Foster Youth Programs, and Youth/Young Adult Ministries, and begin a High School internship program and Life Skills program.
We are currently facilitating Career Planning & Exploration workshops for schools and other community programs throughout the Inland Empire (San Bernardino & Riverside Co.) and offer a 4-week mentor program.
VISION for 2020
To open Life Skills "Saturday Centers" in various locations throughout of Inland Empire on Saturdays, where young people can walk in to receive career counseling, information, resources and take life skills classes.
MENTORS
-provide resources and referrals
-partner with & support existing programs in place
-encourage personal growth and self-advocacy
-complete needs assessment
-assist in setting goals, provide career counseling, and teach life skills
-emphasize the importance of the community and a strong family unit
STATISTICS
- in 3 young people will grow up without a mentor.
-Young adults who were at-risk for falling off track but had a mentor are: 55% more likely to enroll in college.
-By preparing young people for college and careers, mentoring helps develop the future workplace talent pipeline.
-Youth who meet regularly with their mentors are:46% less likely than their peers to start using illegal drugs and 27% less likely to start drinking.
-A study showed that the strongest benefit from mentoring, and most consistent across risk groups, was a reduction in depressive symptoms — particularly noteworthy given that almost one in four youth reported worrisome levels of these symptoms at baseline.
-Mentoring promotes positive social attitudes and relationships. Mentored youth tend to trust their parents more and communicate better with them.

SPONSOR A YOUTH
The DESTINED2SUCCEED MENTORING PROGRAM is a one-on-one 4 week mentor program that focuses on career planning and being successful Now. The mentee will have weekly meetings with his/her mentor and receive One-on-One guidance and career counseling, a 40-page binder (Career Portfolio) and Certificate of Completion. The mentee will learn about the Career Planning Process, Career Pathways and Steps, Personal Development and habits that lead to success. The mentee will explore careers & higher education options, and explore opportunities to gain valuable experiences (programs, internships, volunteering, service learning, and dual enrollment). Mentee will complete a job application, resume, cover letter, job search, mock interview, and a 5-Year Plan. Intended for: 14-23 yrs. Cost $150 includes program and material fees.
