About the Book
Two Geek Mamas, Candy Keane and Katherine Margaritis, have teamed up to create an illustrated children's book to introduce kids to all the fun things they might see at a Comic Con type convention. Our goal is to have them in hand by October 2020. (or sooner!)

Written by Candy from GeekMamas.com and illustrated by Katherine from That Nerdy Mom , the book follows the story of a little boy attending his very first convention, taking pictures with cosplayers, attending panels, getting autographs, and more!
Candy was inspired to write the story after reading her son a book about going on his first airplane trip. There were also books about first days of school, first trips to museums...but none to give a child (and possibly parents) a preview of what it's like to attend a convention.
About the Funds Needed
* Our original goal was to publish a hardcover book through Mascot Publishing .
* The exact cost for the publishing proposal is $3,670, which covers 500 books, plus editing, page set-up and cover design.
* To get these published by October, we needed do our first payment at the end of March.
* As of March 31, our total was $700 and the world was suddenly in crisis. We have updated the GoFundMe to reflect this and made some changes. Read the full story:

$150: Matted Original Illustration
We have a limited amount of the original, one-of-kind illustrations by Katherine created during the very beginning process of the book. This is not a print but an inked or mixed media scene from the book. Includes 11x14” matted illustration and copy of the book.
