As you know, our mission, is to provide opportunities for disabled adults, reveal the value that these individuals bring to the community and provide safe and friendly places for the community to interact with our employees and each other. Last year was very successful for Sacred Groundz because of you. We were able to build a coffee truck, employ several disabled adults, work with countless volunteers, multiple schools, churches and business in St. Charles and St. Louis Counties. We cannot thank you enough.
Now in 2020, we have another incredible opportunity. Within the next few weeks there is the potential for Sacred Groundz to purchase a well-known local doughnut shop. Paul’s Doughnuts was founded in 1968 and it has been a fixture in St. Peters for nearly 30 years. The owners of Paul’s decided to retire and closed their doors on December 29, 2019. So why Paul’s? Not only does it have a great location, easy access to the drive-thru, lots of great parking, indoor and outdoor seating, but also great doughnuts of course!
We believe that this is the next step towards fulfilling our mission. By purchasing Paul’s, we would be able to provide jobs for more disabled adults. We would also have a perfect place for people to enjoy coffee, work, meet up, all while interacting with our employees.
Our immediate need is to raise $150,000. This would allow us to purchase the business name, recipes, equipment and do minor renovations. We are in dire need of finding donors, businesses, or individuals that would be willing to support us in this endeavor. This is where we hope you will consider helping us to fulfill this part of our mission. We need to get the word out as quickly as possible. If this is something that you would consider, please let us know how?
