Glama-Rama! Salons Need Your Help!

Dearest Glam clients,
As you may know, San Francisco is a challenging place to run a small business. Like most small businesses Glama-Rama! runs on tight margins, and COVID-19 has severely impacted us. We will be recovering from the loss of income this month for a very long time. Additionally I’m very worried about the financial impact this loss of work is having on my employees and independent contractors. Since the ‘shelter-in-place’ order I have been pursuing every possible source of funding, but unfortunately the vast majority of the grants being offered only apply to businesses with fewer employees. I'm also applying to loans to help keep the bills paid during this closure, but that really only delays the financial impact that this pandemic has on the Glam. Folks have suggested selling gift certificates to help us pay some bills while we are closed, but again it really only delays the financial impact of being closed. Unlike retail businesses where you are buying a product and the timing of that doesn't really matter, service providers only work a certain number of hours per day and redeeming a gift certificate for a service would take the place of another paying appointment which in the long run creates a new problem.
If you are still able to work remotely and you are in a position to do so the most helpful thing you can do for us is to make a donation to help us through this time. Any money we raise is going towards paying bills and securing the long-term financial health of the business.
Our wish list would be:
$20k would keep our bills paid and leave us on stable footing for April.
$35k would keep our bills paid and leave us on stable footing for April AND to help cover some of our employee’s missed wages.
$65k would keep our bills paid and leave us on stable footing for the coming months AND to help cover some of our employee’s missed wages AND provide a safety net if the shutdown last longer than April 7th.

- Low on your favorite hair care product? Order some more on our website to be shipped to your house: we get a small commission from each sale and every dollar helps.
- Love your color & cut? Write us a review on google or yelp. Promote us on social media. Tag us and help us grow our clientele.
- Book services for April/May/June. We'll be back to work as soon as we are allowed to do so. The current date we're working with is 4/8 but of course that could change, as we all know.
