Help Those Affected by COVID-19 Get Free Therapy!

As we come face to face with the financial, physical, and emotional consequences of the current health crisis, more patients than ever are in dire need of mental health counseling. Unfortunately though, as unemployment skyrockets, the patients who are most in need are often also those with the most limited access to treatment. Similar to the finite capacity of local hospitals, free mental health counseling services, such as San Diego County Mental Health, have limited resources that are easily overwhelmed. Our mission is to supplement these local area providers by offering free services of our own and keep our devoted and beloved counselors employed and treating patients in need!
All donations of this fundraiser will be used to minimally compensate counselors for providing free sessions to patients in need.
Already many of our patients at Good Therapy San Diego have lost their jobs and, therefore, have lost their ability to pay for their treatment. We are currently giving pro bono treatment to a few of these individuals who are struggling. However, we would like to treat more patients affected by COVID-19, and for longer periods of time.
Free sessions will be prioritized for Health Care Workers, First Responders and those that have lost their jobs!
On our own, we have the capacity to provide a few sessions for a few at-risk patients. With the support of the community, though, we’d be able to extend our reach by helping dozens more!

The amount of sessions and patients that are chosen for free services are chosen by our clinicians, according to need and severity of symptoms. Donations will not be tax deductible as GTSD is a for profit organization. However, this effort will be treated as a non-profit exercise. We’ll direct 100% of the amount donated to the clinicians who are treating the unemployed. In addition, the staff workers administering, scheduling, billing, technology, and all other overhead costs will be paid for as part of GTSD’s donation to this cause. Any additional funds will be donated to San Diego County Mental Health. If you are an active or past GTSD patient please do not feel compelled to donate. This fundraiser is for you!!
