Help PURE's staff keep their families fed

When a tragedy strikes, our mettle is tested. In a crisis, we are forced to adapt. This COVID-19 pandemic is both.
For 12 years PURE served Granada as a gym, wellness center, healthy cafe and a place to build community. But due to the Corona virus, we’ve shut PURE’s doors. Temporarily.
Unfortunately, there is no “unemployment compensation” in Nicaragua that our staff can claim. Unemployment is skyrocketing. And the hospitals were struggling to provide adequate services before COVID-19. The situation is dire.
So, while we’ve had to furlough our staff, we will still be paying them for 3 days of work per week with the donations that come in for the programming. They’ll be doing community support projects: making home-made masks, working in our garden beds to raise food for their families and for seniors in need, etc.
We are asking for you help to pay their salaries and support their good work. And we - over a dozen ex-PURE instructors and the owners - are donating online classes to help support the team.
All of our classes - yoga, gym, mediation, etc. - are available online.
