Amy's PPD Fight

As many of you may know, at the end of last year Amy was struggling with depression and suicidal ideations. On December 31st she called her doctor for help and they suggested she get to an emergency room. JT drove her to the ER and Amy was subsequently kept in Inpatient Psychiatry for severe postpartum depression for a full week. JT and the kids came to visit everyday but being away from each other for so long was painful. However, being there sped up the process for Amy to heal. Amy was able to be monitored 24/7, which meant not only was she safe but she was able to go on a significant dose of antidepressant in a short amount of time.
At the end of that week, Amy had made it over the tip of the iceberg! Coming home, she still had a lot of healing to do, though. She has spent many hours in therapy and she and her family have made life long plans, like moving back to St. Louis to have the support of nearby family and lifelong friends.
If it weren’t for that week in the hospital, Amy wouldn’t be here today, JT would be a widower, and Boston, Oakley, and Kaldi would have grown up without a mother. That week saved our family.
However, we are now burdened with immense medical debt. As much as we need to move on we are crippled by the fact that we have bills we can't pay. While the hospital stay and therapy has kept Amy alive, the financial ramifications will affect us for the rest of our lives. So we are asking for help if you are able. We don't anticipate that we'll collect the full amount of this fundraising goal, but every little bit helps. The amount of debt we have accrued has devastated our family, and we are just looking to move past this so we can have hope of a fresh start with our new journey ahead.
