Ovarian Cancer Care Nurses

In 2017 I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer Stage 4B. I was given a dismal chance of survival and endured 36 chemotherapy infusions and 5 surgeries. Treatment was physically and emotionally draining and although I was surrounded by family and friends, I found there was a constant need to speak with someone that understood the many side effects of treatment and the daily battle to stay positive and focused on beating this disease. I needed a Cancer Care Nurse that was experienced in Ovarian Cancer.

Australia has only 3 Ovarian Cancer Care Nurses for the thousands of women dealing with Ovarian Cancer.

I was in treatment for 8 months and have now been living on the cancer path for three years. In all this time, I have never been contacted or referred to an Ovarian Cancer Care Nurse. This needs to change.

Ovarian Cancer treatments are debilitating and quite often are ongoing for many years as Ovarian Cancer has a 70% risk of recurrence. Many women return to treatment after initially beating this disease.

This is why Ovarian Cancer Care Nurses are needed now. Please help me raise funds for more Ovarian Cancer Care nurses to help all women dealing with Ovarian Cancer.
