The Covid-19 Pandemic is shining a brighter light on the gaps in local food security, and we are immediately working to respond in this emergency. There is immense pressure on our community members who already have multiple barriers to accessing fresh, healthy produce. We are working to bring fresh vegetables and fruit to our community members who need it most: those on limited income, those who have lost work, have limited physical mobility, are in isolation, or have a lack of transportation.
The Cedar Cottage Food Network (CCFN) is an is an independent, non-profit organization working toward more sustainable and just food systems at the neighbourhood level in the Cedar Cottage area of East Vancouver. Our mission is to enhance the health and well-being of vulnerable populations in the neighborhood by supporting and coordinating local food security initiatives and improving access to community health, social services and community-based programs.
Funds collected will go to the cost of purchasing food, transportation and logistics to distribute the food to our neighbours in need.
