Follow Me Home Recovery Home and Recovery Coaching Fellowship was founded three years ago on the simple notion that taking action today can change a life.
If that idea was once an abstraction, the recent events of the
COVID-19 outbreak brings an altogether new meaning to this premise.
As our Recovery Home has sponsored past community events, raising awareness for mental health and recovery through in-home concerts and pot-lucks, the current circumstances challenge us to consider new ways of sponsoring action to make a difference in our neighborhoods.
This is why we've decided to raise funds for Gilead Community Services Safe Care-Package Delivery Tours. Gilead has been serving Connecticut for over 50 years, providing Mental Healthcare services, awareness & advocacy, and building community projects. Without their mental healthcare support, the Follow Me Home Recovery Coaching Fellowship would not be possible.
Following safety mandates and advisories from the Connecticut Department of Health and the CDC, Gilead's Care-Package Delivery Van safely brings mental health and wellness support with individually wrapped care-packages for Gilead Clients and the clients of other community organizations in the area. The van has even made trips to care settings to sing happy birthday to clients from the curbside.
These care-packages range from $5-$50 in price and consist of individually wrapped healthy snacks and safe games for congregate living environments.
As these are trying times for everyone in isolation, supporting mental health has never been more important. Every donation represents an opportunity to make an impact on a life.
