In celebration of winning the Irish Times Theatre Awards Audience Choice Award for 2020, we are releasing a recording Bread not Profits for a limited time to stream online.
The recording is free to view but we would appreciate if you could make a donation, no matter how small, to this fund so we can support our cast and creative team in this difficult and uncertain time. As you know almost all artists are currently out of work and facing an uncertain future, a small donation in lieu of a ticket for this show will allow us to pay them a gratuity for their contribution to this incredible show.

Celebrating the centenary of the Limerick Soviet, in which the workers of the city declared a general strike in defiance of the British Army, Bread Not Profits will bring history to life in an exciting and immersive piece of theatre.
With a script by Mike Finn (Pigtown, The Unlucky Cabin Boy), direction by Terry O’Donovan (On the Wire), and music by David Blake (Brad Pitt Light Orchestra), Bread Not Profits is a unique, dramatic celebration of one of the city’s
proudest moments.

Shakespeare used his history plays to explore issues relating to the morality of power and kingship and to question when it might be right to rebel. In Gúna Nua’s production of Mike Finn’s latest history play Bread Not Profits, the question repeatedly asked of the audience is “ whose side are you on?”, by the end it’s not a very difficult one to answer.
