Espresso Machine & Barista Kit

Hi my name’s Tim,

I’m passionate about people, building community among those who are struggling, marginalised and isolated, and I do it using coffee!

I’ve been a professional barista for a number of years and I’ve seen how coffee can transform people’s lives, from those who farm the beans, to those who serve and drink it.

Last year I worked with an amazing charity in Luton called Azalea. They work with women who are trapped or at risk of sexual exploitation. I decided to help and did what I could, I ran  barista skills course for them and the transformation in the women was amazing! Seeing them gain so much self-confidence and self-esteem, from being able to learn to deliver coffee at a professional level and working through the struggles of learning a new skill was humbling. Sometimes the simplest things can make the biggest difference.
We started to think how we could do this in a more sustainable, long-term way.

We’ve decided to set up a cafe within the charity’s HQ here in Luton, to run the course on a weekly basis. We’ve been working behind the scenes to get this going, but something has just happened!

Recently, an opportunity has come up where we can purchase all of the equipment we need to get this off the ground for a fraction of the retail cost! It’s a real blessing and we need to act quickly – before the end of May.

Here is the equipment we’ve been offered:
*San Remo Zoe, 2 group espresso machine
Fiorenzato F64 grinder
Flo Jet pump
Cups
Tamper
Tamp mat
Coffee scales
Espresso scales
Milk Jugs

We know this is a really bad time to start fundraising. We understand that a lot of people will have uncertain futures. But there is also an opportunity here for us to start to build the futures of those most vulnerable. We really hope you can share this vision with us and provide hope to those people that Azalea works with.

If you can share our fundraising campaign, help us to publicise it or better still, consider giving a small amount before the end of May, we’d be so grateful. We just need 100 people to give £30 each - or another figure that you can afford, and this project will happen!

If you’d like more information about the work of Azalea please visit their website (www.azalea.org.uk) or get in touch with me about this project. I’d love to tell you more.

Anything you can do will be much appreciated. Thank you.
