Feed Canadian Families in Need during COVID-19

Donation protected
We were inspired by a paramedic that we tried to buy lunch for during these trying times.  He said, "I appreciate it but there are lots of people out of work that could really use a free meal and I would like to pass it forward".  Our idea was born:  We are going to bring happy and healthy meals to families and individuals facing financial hardship.  Our goal is to feed as many people in need as possible.

$5 donation will contribute towards a healthy, fresh and nutrient dense meal for a child/individual.

$8 donation will provide a full, fresh, healthy and nutrient dense meal for a child/individual.

$32 donation will feed a family of 4.  They will receive fresh, nutritious and delicious meals.

$50 donation will feed a family of 6+. All fresh, healthy and nutrient dense meals.

$100 will feed over 12 individuals/children/family members in need.

Thanks to the logistics and volunteers at Vancouver Food Runners; all recipients will receive, fresh, tasty and healthy nutrient dense meals rather than high sodium, low nutrient canned goods.

Currently, many families/people are not able to make ends meet.  If we can put nutritious food on their table, it will alleviate some financial stress and let them know they are cared for.  Our fellow Canadians shouldn't have to worry about how they're going to feed their families.  Lots of families have taken substantial pay cuts, are out of work and even with the government funding; they are struggling to pay their bills.  This struggle will last long after COVID as our economy rebuilds.  Many jobs will be permanently lost and we will be able to help these families through their transition.

This initiative will also support the hurting restaurant industry.  Allowing struggling small businesses to pay their rent, get involved with their communities, provide working hours for the staff, keep the supply chain moving and keep purchasing from their suppliers including local farmers and service providers.  This trickles down to many Canadian jobs and will have a positive impact on not only the families in need but the rest of our economy as well.  It's full circle - purchasing these meals allows more jobs to continue and = less people in need.

Many extra steps are being taken to ensure that all meals are prepared with the highest level of food safe precautions.  Strong social distance measures are in place for contactless deliveries.

We have partnered with Vancouver Food Runners to get fresh and healthy meals out to those that are most in need.

Our first target is to provide 100 meals daily to families and individuals in need.

Meals will be purchased through our restaurant network.  All restaurant partners required to discount each meal by 30%.  This will allow restaurants to pay staff and cover their costs while also giving back and contribute towards the cause.

Our team includes: Monica Arora - an elementary school teacher of 19 years, Chris Dahan - a fitness and nutrition coach with a lifetime dedicated to health, Ajay Dhingra and Vicky Nguyen - small business owners in the health and restaurant industry for over 15 years.  Their restaurants will be our first partners.

Let's go do good together.
