The Spread of The Novel Coronavirus and the disease it causes COVID-19, is driving massive disruption to the vulnerable communities. As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread throughout the world, my home Goma, DR Congo is facing a serious humanitarian need with COVID19 crisis. Many people especially vulnerable have little savings, run out of food and are unable to pay essential bills for their necessity due the total lockdown and price hike in the market. People are advised to stay away from crowded areas. That presents an obvious dilemma: how are they going to get food and medical supplies?
With this pandemic, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) continues to face an acute and complex humanitarian crisis. Many people, especially the most vulnerable, are unable to meet their basic needs, such as access to food and medical care especially those with chronic illnesses, plus some other limited livelihood opportunities .
DIVIN ADAMO, Dr. BINEZERO MAMO SIMON and Justin MUNANA (IYAFP-DRC) we are committed to engaging youth in championing and leading the campaign to assist people vulnerable people, Pregnant Women and elderly with chronic diseases to overcome this pandemic period and give them hope to live.
This campaign will enable us to secure the resources we need to serve the most vulnerable members of the community during this difficult time. Together, we will be providing to the vulnerable people who are unable to get their daily food and medical supplies most especially for the dependent subsets of population to mention but a few the childre, eldery and disabled with chronic illnesses.
With a team of 30 volunteer, we have been able to identify 200 homesteads in need With 700 people (Children, Adult, Eldery with Chronic Deseases and Pregnant Women) in War-torn Goma under the Shadow of COVID19.
A donation of any amount can provide a lot of support and is greatly appreciated.
Your contribution to this initiative will go straight to procuring and delivering this set of essential food and emergency drugs to the Goma communities.
