Castle Hill Primary Virtual Relay Race Challenge

Dear Parents and Friends of Castle Hill,

Due to the Covid-19 Virus, Castle Hill Primary School has had to temporarily shut its doors to the majority of its Pupils (although still open for keyworker & vulnerable children and of course, we are still teaching online!). This is having a significant impact on our already very tight budget, this is just one of the many harsh effects of our school closure.

We rely heavily on other ways of generating additional incomes, whether this is from Fundraising Friends events like school discos and summer fayres or letting out our school hall to companies to run their clubs etc. With Covid-19 all these activities have stopped which is leaving a large hole in the school budget and what we can afford.

In light of this, we are looking for new and exciting ways to keep the sense of community going, put a smile on people's faces, and raise funds for our school to support initiatives for our children.

So, in an exciting new initiative, we would like to invite you to take part in our #CHPSVirtualRelayRaceChallenge throughout May and help raise some fund for Castle Hill Primary School. All we ask is that you invite your family and friends to sponsor you by donating via our ‘Go Fund Me Page’, or simply share our page and get the word out there!

Keep an eye out on our Facebook page to see our videos/ pictures!

We are going to see how far we can walk/run/cycle/scoot as a school throughout the month. Each time you head out for your daily exercise, log it onto the Google Form that will be shared with you (should you wish to join in) and tell us how far you’ve been. The hope is that the further we go, the more money we will raise!

We are aiming to be able to improve our reading corners in each of the classrooms and would hope that any funds raised can help towards making the areas more inviting and really encourage our children to engage in reading.

If every child in the school walks for 1 mile a day throughout May, then we will travel a total of over 7,200 miles. That’s the same as going from Castle Hill all the way to Singapore! Now, imagine how far we can travel if all of the Castle Hill Community are involved – parents, staff and children all working together towards an amazing total!

We would really appreciate you sharing this across social media using #CHPSVirtualRelayRaceChallenge to see how far we can spread this message and how many people we can get involved.

Thanks, as always, for your ongoing support and we can’t wait to see you all working together to see how far we can travel.

On your marks, get set, go!

Kind regards,

The Castle Hill Team
