Since 2008, Churches Outreach Network (CON) has been a staple in the Greenville Community - ministering to our most vulnerable populations by providing the basic needs of food, clothing, and shelter - while connecting these individuals to valuable resources for a better life. In this time of crisis, CON continues to be the hands and feet of Jesus by reaching out and serving those in need. As our motto states, we provide food to the hungry and hope to the hopeless.
Please help us continue this great work by giving to the CON COVID-19 Response Fund. Your dollars will continue the response that is already under way. Since the Governor's Executive Order, CON has responded in the following ways:
1. Distributed 2,420 Food Boxes
Immediately after the Governor’s first executive order, CON purchased food and packed boxes that were distributed to families in need. One box ($35 each) fed a family of 6 for one week.
2. Implemented “Drive-Thru” Food Pantry
Recognizing the need for social distancing measures, CON distributed food boxes to approximately 127 families via drive-thru.
3. Helped with the Rickhouse Restaurant Meal Give-A-Way
CON, NC Civil, area churches, and the Greenville Police Department distributed hot meals to approximately 900 families.
4. Distributed Essential Supplies
CON provided 70 hygiene kits and cleaning supplies ($20 each) to our community.
5. Provided Shelter for 9 Families
CON was contacted by Pitt County Schools to support families in need of a safe place to stay. The ministry stepped in and offered two weeks of hotel accommodations ($60 per night).
6. Supplied Basic Needs for School Children
Pitt County Schools Social Workers reached out to CON to provide needed items for children. The ministry was able to provide 15 hygiene and cleaning kits ($20 each) and 6 boxes of food ($35 each).
7. Gave a Helping Hand to Seniors
CON provided 32 cleaning kits ($20 each) to seniors who may not be able to shop and brave the retail marketplace.
