Woldy Kusina Feeding Healthcare Workers

Woldy Kusina is a small business that started in 2016 catering casual and intimate gatherings with the mission of eating locally, seasonally and healthfully. As a queer and minority business owner, I made a commitment that I would work and hire LGBTQ+, women and minorities. Since then, we continued to grow organically, creating beautiful food, producing memorable events and uplifting the community. I was very proud of the steady progress that I was building.  


All that stride came to a halt due to the pandemic, COVID-19. To help maintain the spread of the virus and keep people safe and healthy, all of our events and catering jobs were canceled. We rely heavily on each and every event and catering that comes in and at this moment in time, we are jobless. 


This breaks my heart that I may not be able to afford to bring my “family” back and possibly operate the business again. I am doing the best that I can to make sure that they have a place to come back to.


In an effort to save my small catering business and make sure that my “family” comes back during this uncertain time, we are asking if you, your company or clients are able to donate a beautiful and healthy catered meal to feed the healthcare workers and first responders of New York City. With your help and generosity, this will give us hope and nourish our brave healthcare professionals.
