****AS OF SEPTEMBER 30 2020, GOFUNDME HAS  UPDATED OUR CAMPAIGN ON THEIR BACKEND AND MOVED OUR FUNDRAISER TO THIS NEW LINK (OTHER LINK IS INACTIVE). THE ERROR MESSAGE  STATING THAT WE HAVE "PAUSED DONATIONS" HAS BEEN RESOLVED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND SUPPORT!!!

*****THANK YOU!!! WOW!! WE HAVE SURPASSED OUR GOAL OF $13,500 AS OF SEPT 13 2020******
Our intentions and goals to purchase a refrigerated truck from June 25 have evolved.

On Aug 31 2020, Ottawa Mission announced that they have launched a mobile food truck  and have partnered with a series of businesses across Ottawa. They have committed to provide 100 meals a day for five days a week across different neighbourhoods. This is AWESOME! This is truly needed for the sake of accessibility.

We are in the process revising our strategies to better meet the needs of our vulnerable neighbours and help fill in the gaps of lack of resources many marginalized groups have limited access to due to COVID19 and other barriers. We will continue to post updates on what that looks like via our instagram @hitthestreets.ca

As of 09/16/2020, we are accepting the following donations:

Supplies
- Gift cards (grocery stores, department stores, gas)

Distribution Items
- New and unworn socks
- New and unworn underwear
- New and unworn diabetic compression socks
- New mini first aid packs
- Reusable heat packs

Food/Beverage
- School safe (nut free) apple sauce, fruit cups
- Yogurts
- Jerkies
- Trail mixes
- Cases of bottled water

Thank you for your support.

Please stay safe.

NEW --- As of May 13 2020 we can provide a fixed $ amount for individuals fleeing domestic violence and dire situations.
At the start of May, we were approached by two community health organizations to temporarily support a pregnant individual who was fleeing domestic violence. Hit The Streets used $100.00 of donations to find immediate shelter, clothing and food for this individual as their case workers were figuring out a more permanent solution. HTS has also distributed critical emergency funds to other individuals.
