Lime Leaf Thai is a majority female and POC owned restaurant that has been serving the Chicago Loop since 2018. We would first like to say thank you for all of the support our customers have given us over the past year and a half we have been in business.
COVID-19 related lockdowns have caused severe problems throughout the restaurant industry. Staff are out of work, restaurant owners are draining their savings to cover the bills, fridges full of food are being given away and potential customers are understandably choosing to cook at home during this period of uncertainty. As a downtown restaurant heavily dependent on the patronage of office workers, students, tourists and conference attendees, Lime Leaf has been no exception. We have had to close as a result of the lack of orders and furlough all of our staff. At this point we are looking for funds to help us get things back up and running once the lockdowns are lifted. 100% of your donation will go towards our staff and operations costs so that we can reopen, potentially as soon as June 1st.
