Hi! We hope everyone is staying safe during this unprecedented time. As many of you know, COVID-19 forced schools all across Cincinnati to shut down for the year, and many students became familiar with the process of remote learning.
Most of us didn’t think twice during the transition, however, some underprivileged schools and districts were not able to do so because of the lack of devices among their students.
That’s why we started the Tech to Teach initiative. Our goal is to provide as many computers as we can to the Oyler school district in Lower Price Hill, Cincinnati, where they are struggling to keep remote learning afloat as over 200 of the students cannot access virtual lessons.
Even though the school year is coming to a close, getting these kids access to laptops is a prevalent issue because of the growing “homework gap” over these past few weeks without devices.
In Oyler, almost 100% of students are living at or near the poverty line. They have made tremendous progress from getting their graduation rate from almost 0% to 80%. When these kids don’t have access to lessons, all this progress is being threatened.
Not only do these devices assist these kids in their learning now, but it will also allow them to receive a better education with better resources even after the pandemic.
Most importantly, by donating, you would not only be helping a child with their education, but contributing to the fight against COVID-19.

We started our fundraiser through Tarangini, a non-profit organization that aims to conserve, contribute and continue the Telugu Heritage and culture in the Greater Cincinnati area.
