Help save Cramér

Hey guys, around a year ago, I adopted my little buddy Cramér and his brother, Chester (named after the Swedish mathematician, and the Siamese cat going by the pen name Felis Domesticus Chester Willard who published multiple physics papers in the 70s, respectively). Unfortunately, they were extremely, extremely sick when I got them (Cramér was 6.5 lbs at ~8 months and went down to 5.5 after purging 1 lb of worms, and Chester was 3.5 lbs at ~5 months and went down to 2.5 after purging 1 lb of worms) from an abusive situation.

Unfortunately, both cats were also cursed with terrible genetics, and were part of a large group of cats that all developed Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), a mutation of a feline coronavirus (not to be confused with human Sars-CoV-2). Chester passed away last year from the horrible condition after a lot of money went towards specialist visits and such, but unfortunately no treatment was available at the time. When Cramér also came down with the condition recently, fortunately there were a number of antivirals available (very similar to remdesivir being used to treat human CoVID-19), and literature studies have shown very promising success rates (>80% cure rate across a few studies for an otherwise 100% fatal condition). I've been fortunate enough to have the ability to shell out for this for the last two months, but unfortunately with tearing my ACL and barely recovered from paying off my other cat's bills from when he was sick, I'm kinda screwed at the moment. Cramér is doing great so far; when he started off, he couldn't even walk due to severe encephalitis, and now back and really healthier than he's ever been before (routinely running laps through my room at 5 AM, so either he's doing well or he went nuts). Anything that is contributed will go towards finishing off Cramér's treatment (the meds are extraordinarily expensive; looking at about $10,000 for the full treatment which he is about 80% through due to the fact that he's a big boy and had a more severe initial presentation) and vet bills (he needs regular bloodwork and eye exams). If by some chance anything is left over, it will be donated to ZenByCat which provides funding for research into this insanely infuriating condition.

Cramer, pre-FIP.

The two of us at the ER at 5 AM on the day he started treatment.

Enjoying cuddle time after a long day of social distancing. In the background, the remains of a toilet paper roll he got a hold of.
