Save Sutherland House Natural Health Centre

Sutherland House, based in NW London, offers bespoke natural and medical health treatments (physiotherapy, osteopathy, naturopathy, GP services and others) to the local community and surrounding areas. The clinic was established in 1978 and has served its community for over 40 years.

The reason for seeking crowd funding is fourfold:

-          The government excluded our practice in receiving the small business Covid-19 grant,

-          Our clinic is not eligible to receive non domestic small business rate relief

-          Following our own governing body’s advice we have not been able to see any patients since lockdown and therefore we are unable to generate income

-          Due to the social distancing and hygiene requirement regulations we will be able to operate at 30% capacity at best once lockdown restrictions have been relaxed

Sutherland House is not run with the intention of maximising profits, but as a centre that puts patients’ needs first. Any surplus money has always been invested into providing a professional and safe treatment environment for our patients and practitioners and into modern equipment and new treatment modalities that can benefit our patients in their recovery process.

The 2 months that we were not able to earn any money, together with not receiving any support from the government, meant the practice had no income during this period. At the same time, we are still expected to cover our monthly expenses.

Once we re-open our doors, we will be following the government recommendations and guidelines for safe practice which will result in minimising the number of patients we can see each day, further reducing the clinic’s potential revenue, which will not enable us to cover our monthly expenses during this time.

The £50,000 we are looking to raise, though it might seem a lot, will help to cover the costs occurred in the last 2 months and to make up for the missing income until the restrictions will be lifted.

Maintaining this clinic would ensure the continued support to the local and extended community, as well as providing a workplace for our highly qualified and dedicated practitioners and reception staff.

We hope to re-open the clinic on a restricted basis in early June 2020 and consequently any funding received at an early stage would ensure the practice could at least operate effectively without the need to borrow funds elsewhere.

To receive funding in these challenging times would enable our practitioners to maintain the high level of care and treatment to patients, who in the past have benefited from our exceptional and unique medical services.

In summary, to obtain funding of this nature would be a dream come true for us and will enable us to ensure the well-being of all our patients and a secure workplace for all our staff and practitioners.

Thank you all in advance for your generous donations and for your continued support,
