We are a group of volunteer doctors who all work on the frontlines of the NHS who believe we have a duty to keep the public informed during the pandemic.
Throughout this crisis we have provided a calm and consistent voice in the media. The Doctors’ Association UK (DAUK) supported NHS staff to share their stories anonymously through us to ensure the public were aware of conditions on the frontline whilst protecting doctors' identity.
But with the number of patients in hospital with COVID now the highest they have ever been in England, we urgently need your help.
During the first wave we fought tirelessly for doctors whilst working on the NHS frontlines ourselves. We helped deliver PPE to GPs, we secured a death in service benefit for health and social care staff, we saw the deeply unfair immigration health surcharge scrapped for our hard working NHS staff.
It took every ounce of energy we had.
As the voice of frontline doctors we advocated for NHS staff at the highest levels of Government. It is imperative that we are able to look after NHS staff in the same way as during this second wave as we did in the first.
To do this we need to employ some staff to help support us. A press officer and admin staff will help us by ensuring the voice of NHS doctors is heard in the media. It is our press coverage that acts as our lever to effect change. Sadly it is the case the Government will not act until there is enough pressure to do so.
We also need support and delivering briefings for MPs. This involves our volunteers making hundreds of calls a week to MPs to secure their support to help NHS staff.
