Black House News is a news and multi-media organization focused on telling the story of the Global Liberation Movement. At Black House News we provide:

A resource to those involved in the movement.
A learning hub for those who want to learn about the movement.
A home for Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and All People looking to make positive socio-economic change in this nation and this world.

Our goal is to promote literacy, advocacy and creativity.

Founded June 2nd, 2020, the night after Donald Trump’s infamous photo-op walk. Protesters decided that we would no longer let the media paint a villainous picture of the movement. Throughout the movement, protesters worldwide have made tremendous efforts to show the peace, solidarity, and beauty exchanged in the midst of these dark times.

Even as we continue to be tear-gassed, pepper-sprayed, and illegally arrested, we will persevere. Mainstream media would like to paint us as thugs. We will show the world that, while others focus on destruction, we have chosen to come together to build. We built a house where all are welcome, equal, empowered.

Literacy

Our communities need to be empowered in many areas; its easy to focus on the financial. Using our talents to not only inspire but educate in the process. We believe knowledge is power.

We have a tab on our website for Liberation Movement Resources , a library for all who want to learn with guides for how to survive moving forward in this crazy world.

The news section drives the literacy piece as we try to educate underrepresented communities on the world today.

We also produce a newsletter designed to help all people - not just protesters - how to effectively navigate in today’s challenging times.

Advocacy

The advocacy piece comes from the streets and feeds the news section, as well as Congress.  We want to show that we are not only civil disobedient , but we are ready to engage legislatively for what we advocate for.

Creativity

The Black Art House section  will be the driving force of how we campaign for our definition of what local, state, and national government look like. We can creatively challenge difficult issues while presenting new options.

We are also working on a documentary: Gasping for Air. To poetically and visually tell the story of the events from June 1st until Inauguration.

Right now, I believe the people are united with the Liberation Movement - they just need to be more aware of our true vision and empowering, powerful, mission.

I believe we are at a turning point in history. Instead of letting history define us, we want to build a house to define ourselves.

The people united will never be divided.

The founder and editor, Sean Michael Love is a photo-journalist, artist, and composer who is focused on making change by any means. Sean Michael is a DC resident and has a long history of advocating for change in the city.  The funds go to operating maintaining the site, film(Sean Michael shoots primarily in 35mm), and equipment.

Black House News provides on the scene coverage of all protest in the city to keep locals and the world informed. Contributions sustain printing the weekly newsletter, developing of film, and travel to the various protests.

Our stories - that come to life through articles, videos and photos - move people to us to at least, consider that we are not less than… that we more than matter.

Please contribute to keep the mission going. Ensuring that Black Voices, the Black Stories, the Black Lives go on.
