Helping Kidney Patients This Winter

Hi, my name is Stuart Smith and I am a kidney transplant patient of nearly 25 years. As we all know 2020 has been a very difficult year for everyone. Kidney Transplant patients as well as those on Dialysis or other stages of kidney disease are part of the extremely vulnerable group during the Covid pandemic. This year would have put a tremendous strain on patients, their carers and families at this difficult time.

Hopefully by setting up Kidney Club I can help in some way, so we can all talk to each other. Talking to patients, carers and family members helps everyone as we face a long winter.  Mental health is a very real part of being a kidney patient also for family members and carers. With your help I can pay the licences for Zoom and other running costs of the website I am building for 12 months as Kidney Club evolves.

I know talking to others who understand how we feel will helps us long term. Many patients are still shielding along with families, some will be living alone and no one to talk too.  So, lets bring them all together using video chats so we can help each other through this difficult time.
