Help us help Betty get back on her feet

On Friday, October 16th, our friend and family member, Betty Apelian, suffered a severe accident. She was readying her home for guests as she prepared to celebrate her 69th birthday with them. She tripped and fell backwards down a metal spiral staircase with an upright vacuum cleaner in hand. She suffered trauma to her back, neck and head, and was taken by ambulance to Midwest Medical Center in Galena. She was then transferred to Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, IL, in the event she might require surgery. She was relieved to learn that surgery wouldn't be needed; instead she was fitted with braces for both her back and neck. She'll be required to wear the braces for several months, along with physical rehab.

In addition to mounting medical expenses, Betty will not be able to continue visiting with the many pet families who are so very important to her. Anyone who knows Betty, knows how devoted she is to not only her own pets, but to the many area pets she visits as well. Her care for them will be greatly missed while she recovers. 

Our goal is to take as much of the financial burden off Betty as possible, so that she can focus on a full recovery. Whatever you can give would be greatly appreciated. All donations will go to supply her with the funds she needs for her recent hospitalization, in-home healthcare, and day to day living expenses for herself and the many pets she has adopted into her home over the years. They rely on her for their ongoing, loving support and care. Thank you!
