Help Us Develop Basketball in Jamaica

P.H.A.S.E.1 has established an academy at the Herbert Morrison Technical High school in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The academy was established in August of this year and aims to provide the student-athletes with the resources necessary to develop their basketball skill.
It is P.H.A.S.E.1's desire to refurbish the basketball court for the academy. The court is currently outdoors, uncovered and concrete. Players are very susceptible to injuries on the court, and games and training sessions are cut short whenever it rains.
Through this fundraiser, we hope to build a basketball court, making the academy the first institution in Western Jamaica to have a covered court and lights to facilitate training regardless of what the weather is like. The hope is the improved infrastructure will inspire the youth to continue playing basketball on the island and that through basketball, they may obtain opportunities to better their lives and that of their families. The Jamaican basketball community is also in need of trained coaches and organized tournaments to provide exposure for these athletes.
For the past 25 years, P.H.A.S.E 1 has been using basketball as a tool for the holistic development of youth by giving them access to expert staff, elite training methods, top competition, and exposure to greater opportunities. We have been funding and supporting basketball programmes in Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, and Africa. But there is so much more that we could do with your help.
Technical Director of the academy Dave Black, a former Jamaican National Team player, said he believes the academy, equipped with the right resources will be beneficial to all of Western Jamaica.
