Snakes on a Plain

Snakes on a Plain

I am asking for your support.

I live in a house in Connecticut that was built in the 40’s on a plain surrounded by rocks, the basement and attic have many Black Eastern Rat Snakes.
There are always snake skins hanging from the rafters and around the windows and lying all over the basement floor plus several recently discovered in the attic.

I have had a licensed trapper removing the snakes from Nuisance Wildlife Removal service everyday this past week and he has removed 11 of them so far and it doesn’t seem like there is any shortage. He has not left here once without a snake but with there being holes and cracks in the basement they will keep coming in.

He ripped down my panel ceiling in the basement and a 6 foot black snake fell out.

He has suggested to get professionals to seal up the basement but on my income I can’t afford that.

Having the trapper come back everyday is also starting to drain my funds.

I can not move because of cost and with the pandemic it’s near impossible.

I have high blood pressure, anxiety and always have had a phobia of snakes. I am high risk and very afraid of going to the doctors because I don't want to catch Covid-19.

My nights of sleeping have become very restless from thinking I will awake to a snake or snakes coming into the upper part of the house or down through the attic.

I fear for my little dogs safety of getting bit or having a big snake getting wrapped around her.

It’s getting to a point where I am scared of getting out of bed at night to use the bathroom.

A little one managed to squeeze its way through a heater vent earlier this summer and was on my kitchen floor. I must of jumped 3 feet in the air.

I have tried, many ideas I found on the internet including ammonia, pellets, cinnamon and deer netting which I did catch a few of the snakes but to my amazement I have seen some of the bigger snakes squeeze right through it and then disappear into holes behind the walls.

Everyday I go down in the basement and check and there is always a new snake. Today I found one wrapped around the electrical wires to my fuse box.
When I think about having to go down and plug in the generator or flip a fuse switch in the dark when we lose power.

I am afraid to get bit by one of the snakes and then be forced to go to the hospital to get treated for a bacterial bite or rabies.
If I can get the basement sealed professionally then I may be able to sleep at night without fear.

If you can find it in your hearts to donate a few dollars and or share this campaign I would be forever grateful.

If you fear snakes as much as I do then you understand what I am going through.
God Bless!
