Enmanji Buddhist Temple Exterior Renovation

Deducible
The Enmanji Buddhist Temple in Sebastopol dates back to 1928, and its iconic temple building was brought on site in 1934.  The building was part of the Chicago World's Fair in 1933 and was transported disassembled by rail to Sebastopol.  Constructed without the use of nails, it took the work of skills craftspeople to reconstruct it.  The building faithfully represents a 12th century Kamakura-style Japanese temple.

Here we are in 2020 and the temple building needs exterior work including a new paint job.  Due to its historic nature, the estimate for the exterior work is $60,000.

We understand that these are trying times for everyone and it is with our deepest gratitude that we thank you for any donation you can provide.

Update on Sept 26, 2021:
The temple building painting project has completed with the help of all the donors!  With a new coat of paint, the building looks fresh and ready for the elements.  Thank you for your generous support!
