My beloved father passed away so suddenly on Nov 5, 2020 at 8:30 PM CST. It came to us as a shock as nobody expected his passing especially at 70 years young.
My dad was the pillar of our family, the provider, the guardian, and our rock.
My dad, the jokester with a poker face. The brilliant inventor with too many ideas in his head. He was the first man who believed in me. The first to invest in me. The first to love me.
He was a great role model who raised us with warmth, joy, and positivity. I looked up to him so much that I realized in later years that I married a man who was just like him in so many ways.
He was a family man through and through. He loved his wife and two daughters more than anything else in the world. He spoiled me rotten but he also taught me about boundaries and responsibilities.
I was lucky to be born as his daughter. He never asked us to be anything but to be true to ourselves. He let us pursue our dreams, whatever they may be, and always ready to help when we needed him.
He was generous, giving, and has saved many lives in Aceh during the tsunami that hit Indonesia in 2004.
The world may have lost one of its finest inventors but I know my family just gained ourselves a guardian angel.
The way he went was as quick as his wit but it was exactly how he would've wanted. Quick, shocking, painless, and on his own terms. He lived his life to the fullest and filled with love.
I'm not gonna wear black or white because I know he'd want his life to be celebrated, not mourned.
Papa, you will be sorely missed ❤️
