Support For ShelterBox - Churchill Rotary Club

A Fundraiser by the Livonia Churchill Rotary Interact Club in partnership with the Livonia AM Rotary for ShelterBox USA.
Community Update:
Recently, the Churchill Rotaract Club ran a bottle drive to support this fundraiser and we had overwhelming support from the community (we estimate that we have $1000-$2000 in cans). We were not able to return them all in one day, so we had to keep them in our treasurer's driveway overnight. This morning, we saw that they were all taken. It was devastating knowing that we had lost all of these donations for such a great cause. Eyewitnesses state that the person who took the cans was a middle-aged caucasian male driving a black pickup truck with a trailer. Please help us retrieve these donations by keeping an eye out and if you would like, spread the word about this page and the fundraiser. Thank you!

For example, in 2017, Hurricane Harvey displaced thousands of Texans, leaving them with virtually nothing. ShelterBox stepped up and helped those in need in the Houston area. Via their shelter-in-shelter program, ShelterBox set up hundreds of humanitarian tents at George R. Brown Convention Center, the largest shelter in Houston. As the number of evacuees surged, ShelterBox continued to provide everything necessary to maintain a sense of normalcy. They set up private spaces for healthcare, lactation stations, AA meeting locations, and even places of worship all in this one convention center. All around the world, ShelterBox is known for its rapid response to disasters. They distributed housing, sustenance, lighting, warmth, and more to the tens of thousands affected by Hurricane Harvey. Thanks to the work of ShelterBox and their project partner Rotary International, thousands of lives were saved and those in need were able to rebuild their lives.
Currently, ShelterBox is working tirelessly around the globe to support those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic. By providing people with access to good hygiene and enabling physical distancing, ShelterBox is mitigating the spread of the disease in all corners of the world, including the United States of America.
By providing those in need with food, water, and shelter, ShelterBox improves the standard of living for many. Rotary International has been a long-time partner of ShelterBox because we believe in their mission. Please consider donating however much you are comfortable with to provide the less-fortunate with everything required to lead a healthy life.
One complete ShelterBox costs $1,000 and a Construction Kit costs $100. By donating any amount, you are helping ShelterBox fund these life-saving kits and change lives across the world. It is a Livonia Rotary tradition to donate to ShelterBox and help them continue saving lives. This year, we are using GoFundMe in order to raise awareness of this wonderful organization and to manage the funds for our lofty goal.
