Memorial and Medical Expenses for Shannon

Donation protected
In loving memory of Shannon Wolf, 4/27/1989 - 11/18/2020. Help us raise money to support Shannon’s family with the cost of her memorial and medical bills.

Shannon was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer (glioblastoma) 6 years ago. She was told she had 6-12 months to live, but she beat the odds and fought tirelessly until her passing this November.

Shannon was able to survive her cancer for 6 years with experimental treatments. She knew traditional chemotherapy and radiation weren’t promising. Even with optimal traditional treatments, patients with glioblastoma usually survive less than 1 year. Unfortunately, her life-saving alternative treatments weren’t covered by insurance and she had to travel to Arizona and California to receive them.

In total, Shannon underwent three brain surgeries. Her most recent surgery was this past July. Doctors told her that her tumor had spread deeper into parts of her brain that weren’t accessible. At that point, she traveled to Irvine, CA where she was able to receive intensive experimental treatments that were unavailable to her in her home state of Utah.

Shannon’s fight with cancer was inspiring. She was called ‘dragon’ for her incredible strength and efforts to ‘conquer the cancerous beast.’ During this time, she lived life to the fullest and was able to have her daughter, Lydia, and marry her best friend, Josh.

When she wasn’t slaying cancer, Shannon enjoyed traveling, nature, spending time with her loved ones, and raising sweet Lydia, who just recently turned 3-years-old. Shannon was a proud mama and she loved this most important full-time job of hers.

Ultimately, Shannon was taken from us suddenly by a brain hemorrhage caused by her tumors. She leaves behind her husband, daughter, parents, siblings, and many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

In addition to grieving this immeasurable loss, Shannon’s family also faces a great deal of medical debt and expenses related to her memorial service. Plus, Josh is navigating being a single parent and sole provider for him and Lydia… during the holiday season no less.

If you’ve lost a loved one, you know that the weight of grief is heavy and unrelenting. Your donation could help alleviate at least some of the financial burden associated with this loss. Thank you for your consideration and generosity.
