Schooner Freda B pandemic relief funds needed

Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Loyal Guests!

We have weathered the most challenging days and have hope for full recovery on the horizon.

We are a local, family-owned recreational business located in Sausalito, CA. Our business has been extremely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and the 2020 California Wildfires. The financial burden and overhead without regular income continue to be a turbulent journey for our team.

Schooner Freda B is sailing again for the 2021 Season with limited capacity for your safety and ours in response to CDC and local guidelines. Limited capacity continues to mean limited earning.

Please consider donating to help us reach our goal of a full recovery.

Our team is doing everything we can to ensure your safety and ours including limited capacity trips to allow for ample physical distancing on deck, a CDC-inspired cleaning/sanitizing routine, and ongoing mask wearing for all souls on deck according to the CDC guidelines. All crew and guests are required to wear masks whether they are vaccinated or not until further notice. This is to continue to protect our crew and guests who have not been vaccinated.

HISTORY:

On March 17, 2020,  the community began sheltering in place due to the  Covid-19 pandemic.  Slip rent, insurance, maintenance, new preparations to meet the moment, and crew costs for the Schooner Freda B continued to mount while the business was completely shut down.

In late June 2020, the boats on San Francisco Bay were allowed to welcome back passengers with a very limited capacity of 12 guests (normally 49 guests aboard Freda B). We gladly welcomed back our crew and adjusted to the new restrictions.  The early September wildfires in California caused unhealthy air and forced our team to cancel trips for our safety and the safety of our guests.

July 15, 2020, would have marked the 10th anniversary of when Schooner Freda B sailed under the Golden Gate, into the San Francisco Bay under our family ownership. Summer 2020 should have been a summer celebrating the journey, accomplishment, and bond we feel with the community. Instead, we have found our team, captains, and crew facing ongoing difficult decisions about the future of Freda B.

Closures and limited capacity for the majority of the peak 2020 sailing season and the beginning of the 2021 sailing season have put the future of our family business in real jeopardy. We are continuing to doing everything we can to emerge from this time with Schooner Freda B and the SF Bay Adventures team still in the Bay area for community enjoyment.

Our team, crew, and loyal guests mean the world to us.  We know this is a difficult time for everyone, and we understand that there are many individuals and organizations in need. If you in a position to lend us a hand with a donation of any size,  and/or a share of this campaign we will be extremely grateful. Your donation or share will be helping a great team stay back to work and a  Bay area local, family business stay afloat!

With all our hearts, we thank you.
