Lockdown Relay

On Saturday 18 July we held our Lockdown Relay which was set up following weeks and weeks of lockdown to do something to bring the schools together. The children had missed out on the Summer events; no Summer Festival, Sports Days or discos.
Over 60 children from Alwyn Infant School and Courthouse Junior School took part. Each child running from their house to the next with the last leg ending up in Oaken Grove Park. We covered over 30km in total on a very hot and sunny day!!
It was an amazing event! We had smiling children the way round route and parents running with them too. Some had made batons, others decorated t-shirts. No matter how far they ran, or what number runner they were they were all winners!
If you would still like to support the children that took part that would be amazing! All proceeds will go the Alwyn and Courthouse Schools PTA who fund additional activities, initiatives and equipment for both schools.
Social distancing was adhered to throughout the event.
