Raising money for the ‘999 Cenotaph’ and the NHS

In the last 4 months, in which we have all been in lockdown (at least in the UK), I have had a long time to think about the situation we are in. I have decided to show my appreciation for the key workers who have pushed themselves to the extremes during this strange time, risking their lives for us without a second thought.

In order to explain my opinion on this pandemic and what is happening right now, I started a blog called 'The Confessions Of A Reading Freak' (www.avaddiraju.wixsite.com/confessions), where I have been writing about the current situation for the last 3 months. I thought that it is due to these front line workers, who have struggled so much to keep on top of this virus, that we can continue living in peace and in safety.

With this in mind, I have therefore decided to raise money for the National Emergency Services Memorial, which will be built in 2023 if the money needed can be raised. The memorial will cost £3.2 million and will be entirely funded by public donations. It will have 5 sides, with statues of the different front line workers.

In order to raise this money, I am doing voluntary work at Waitrose for 5 weeks, for a total of 70 hours. I will not be paid for this, instead, I would appreciate it if you could donate to my cause and sponsor me for this voluntary work with any amount you feel comfortable donating and if you can, share this page with your friends and family.

Thank you in advance,
Anish
