What is Summer Stock Austin?
Summer Stock Austin, partnered with Doctuh Mistuh Productions*, is a tuition-free, practical training program for young theatre makers and artists in high school and college.

Summer Stock is going Virtual and we need your help!
This summer 40 high school and college artists are collaborating with a team of industry experts that range from Emmy award winners to Hamilton stars to create a one of a kind virtual theatre experience, empowering young performers to learn new skills and become creators. Teams of students are creating original short films and taking them from the pitch process to completion. Each project is student-led (with professional mentors) every step of the way.
This year Summer Stock Austin is Independent
Without any major resources, the Summer Stock Austin team is still committed to helping empower young artists to use their creativity for good.
We are trying to raise $25,000
All donations will go directly to program support, marketing, and compensating professional artists and staff.

Welcome to Cyber Stock…an alternate reality… perhaps? A reflection of our society…possibly? A new digital art form that combines song, dance, and storytelling created for and by young artists…absolutely! This year, Summer Stock Austin comes to you.
In an effort to provide young artists with new skills while honing a craft they are passionate about, we bring you SSA 2020. Rather than forcing live theatre into a virtual context, we are creating something tailored to the digital world ... a musical movie like you've never seen before

From the collective talents of Summer Stock Austin's writers, directors, producers and artists comes the next step in our evolution of arts and education. Directly from the stage of Hamilton, Vincent Jamal Hooper and J. Quinton Johnson provide original musical content to frame the work created by our young artists.
A team of industry professionals will guide the next generation of young creators to make entertaining and inspiring digital performance through their passion for history, society, and the world they have inherited.
The Story
The story we are telling is reflective of our current reality, told through the lens of our young creators and performers. Art has the unique opportunity to hold a mirror to society. Sometimes there is beauty. Other times, there is pain. Oftentimes, it is a catalyst for change. More importantly, it is always with hope, heart, and humanity... that we can bring people together. And in this tme, we can't think of anything more vital.
