Hello! We are a group of high school students from Sage Hill School who aim to spread our love for reading in our community. Our newest project is a virtual book club for kids in third to fifth grade called Ready, Set, Read! We would love your help and donations to get our program running before the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year. Many students’ lives have been affected by COVID-19, making it difficult to interact and connect with each other. Through our virtual book club, they would be able to make new friends, explore new genres of books, improve their reading and writing skills, and share their thoughts all while having fun.
We will use your greatly appreciated donations to buy books such as The One and Only Ivan, Inside Out and Back Again, and Holes for about 20 students in the greater Orange County area. We would also use the donations to provide fun activities and events for these students that are related to the books we read. Your valuable donations would allow us to inspire a deep love for reading in the kids and help them through the difficult situation we are facing. Your help will mean so much to us and the kids that will benefit from this program. In a society where technology is gradually taking over young kids’ lives, reading can be an instrumental addition to their lives. Through reading, kids can learn to dream and aspire to be something great, and with our gentle guidance, we can help lead this generation to set the stage for an even greater future.
Your support would ultimately allow us to expand into a true nonprofit organization aimed at spreading the joy of reading in kids both in and beyond Orange County. Reading is a vital tool for success and through your donations and support, we would be able to provide this invaluable tool to countless children.
