Lucia Guadalupe Perez Montes Memorial -COVID Death

It breaks my heart and soul to have to inform you that at 2pm July 31st, I received notice of my mom’s vital signs dropping. I asked them to let me talk to her and they set the phone next to ear once again. I spoke with her for a long time and called whoever I could to encourage her and comfort her letting her understand that she is not alone, has not been, and never will be. I let her know that she lives in me. I promised her she wouldn’t be taken away from me, and I still am upholding this promise.

Shortly after our call my mother’s vital signs slowly kept falling to the point where they had to attempt resuscitation. My mother unfortunately did not respond to all their efforts at around 4pm and was declared deceased. My mother went peacefully and did not feel any pain. Even after being declared deceased I made sure she was still receiving comforting medication as well. This is proof to us that God heard all your prayers and positivity and allowed her time to hear our family, and finally, her son until the very end, when she and God decided it was time to leave this realm.

My mother Lucy was loved by so many people all around the world. And again I remind you, nobody ever really dies. She lives in all of our hearts, thoughts, memories, and even physically through my sisters, her sisters and brothers, and me. She lives in me through my blood, skin, bone, tears, and my soul.

My conscious is good knowing that we did everything we could until the end and that we left her into God’s hands to make the decision of how and when she passed. The way He does things is perfect, merciful, and just. He has saved my life and hers many times for just the right moment. Tonight I inherit her strength, stubbornness, personality, and spirit. My mother will be with all of those who she has come across whenever you remember her beautiful, contagious smile and giggles.

I have no choice but to stay strong and continue my mother’s legacy. I will be allocating funds for costs associated to end of life procedures, grief, and continuing her business which is struggling and that her friends depend on to feed their families. Her business must carry on and tonight I also inherit what she worked so hard for. She started this business hungry, with flyers, working tirelessly, she never gave up.

Mom, again, you live in me now. You live in all of our hearts. I love you momma, I will take you to so many places in this world now that you are forever with me. I will hug you again soon. I will now carry on your final material wishes.

Thank you all for the gracious donations, it will truly help memorialize my mother and bring out family to peace. It will also allow me to run her business like we've always wanted to. I am ETERNALLY grateful.
